Blue Quilled Flower for Gabby

I promised a card to Gabrielle (or Gabby for short) to replace a card that I gave her 3 years ago. We met while we were volunteering as teachers of English to immigrants in Chinatown. On her last day with the school, I gave her a farewell card. Ever since, she has pinned it up at her new job. I am surprised that it has stayed put for so long!

Since her birthday is far in the future, I didn't want to wait so long to send her something. Instead, I personalized the card with her nickname and it'll just be something nice to look at while she's at work.

Now...about the card! The large blue flower is husked on my quilling board with pins. It's a little hard to see, but there are two shades of blue in there. Everything else is cut out from patterned paper.
Have a happy Easter!

  2. Love this card. You have inspired me. Working on a B & W version with sparkly red lettering. I am curious to know what you have used behind the quilled flower? The connected dots that are circular. Originally thought they were sequins but when I enlarge the card they are paper. Is it a punch? joannbruce@gmail.com

    1. Hi, they are die-cuts. I purchased a Silhouette Cameo last year and it does wonders!
