Bridal Party Invites From Summer 2013 Boxed Banners

Happy Thursday everyone! First off, I'd like to thank Chana from 613 Avenue Create for giving my Wedding Thank You cards a spotlight today on her facebook page! How very exciting! :)

It appears as if I'm going backwards in time...from posting wedding thank you cards, to the wedding invites, and now I'm going further back to post about the bridal party invitations I sent out last summer. :X

I took a jewelry box and wrapped each of them up in pattern paper. I cut out scalloped circles and die cut a second layer that was printed with my message inside the center of each heart (Will you be my bridesmaid? 4.27.14). Each panel was strung to make a banner. From there, I taped either side to the inside of the bottom and top of the boxes. Once opened, it should give off a popping out effect when the lid is removed. The tops of the boxes were decorated with silk and paper flowers and finished off with a tag of each of the girls' names.
Lots of joy,

Wet Embossed Snowflake Chipboard Tags

It's already Sept. and all paper crafters who are serious about relying solely on their own creations for the upcoming holidays in Dec. need to start getting on it! ...really! I've been doing major procrastination...I think that's just how I am! :T Not. Good.

This is a minor push toward starting--and thanks to Tuesday Alchemy's Anything Goes challenge this week for contributing to that effort--stamped wet embossed snowflakes on chipboard to create tags. Not only do gifts add up to a lot, all of the packaging do as well so it's a good idea to help alleviate that "pain" in your wallet any way possible. We all know us crafty chicks can do it!
A silver eyelet was set on the middle top of the tag for extra support (yes, I know chipboard is sturdy, but I think it adds to an overall cleaner look as well). The centered tag is double the width of the smaller one off to the side. Some of the smaller gifts look overwhelming with a larger tag and you also may not care to do too much writing, so the extra space is not necessary.

Come join us to win prizes this week! It's a super exciting giveaway!

Quilled Starfish, Sea Shells Tag Ocean Theme

Tuesday Alchemy's Challenge #17 is Sand, Surf & Sea this week! Time to celebrate summer and World Ocean Day on June 8th! We're all preparing for our blog hop next week, so check back in for prizes and surprises! :)

I made a tag from white cardstock. This was my attempt at quilling a starfish. The 2 shells were picked up from a beach in St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida two years ago when I went on a road trip down the east coast of the US. The sentiment was wet embossed in white.
Last week we won front row seats to see Book of Mormon on Broadway! The show was hilarious! The acting was fantastic too! We entered the lottery about 40 times before winning and I won more tickets for a fan performance tomorrow! I've never seen the same broadway show twice before now and to see it back to back weeks is like a dream! I'll be taking my cousin instead of my bf this time. It has been sold out for a year now and regular tickets for a year in advance is about 200-500 dollars a ticket! Feeling very lucky! :)

Anyway, hope to see you play along! The winner of this week's challenge will receive a $15 Gift Certificate from Rhoda Design Studio--Wow!

This tag is also entered in DYSU #74 - Under the Sea, MIM #92, and Pixie Challenge #129.

Stamped Butterfly Chipboard Tags

For the butterflies challenge at Tuesday Alchemy this week I decided to keep it simple and make some tags out of chipboard. I've never made tags before, but I bought a bunch of chipboard sheets on impulse a few months ago and I figure it is time to put them to use. :D

I set an eyelet on each and used cream colored ribbon at the top. I have a large, ugly, but cheap green candle from IKEA and thought I'd dress it up a bit. :) Each tag measures 1.5"x2.5".

There are two sponsors this week  Floppy Latte's Digital Designs & The Doodle Garden, which means 2 prizes to be won, so find some time to stick in a butterfly or two into anything you make this week and share it with us!

Have a 'FLY day!
