Get Well Soon Card -- Green and Gold

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes! I couldn't have asked for more this year!

Now...in sadder news, I've been hearing that a few people my friends know aren't doing so well.
This is a Get Well Soon card that my friend asked me to make to give to her friend. I hope that when he wakes up, he will be greeted with a lot of love. Wishing everyone all the best.
This is the interior.
I made this card based on the sketch from clean&simple.

Quilled Pink Hearts Love Card

Okay, I lied...one more post today before the weekend starts! :D This is a card that I designed based on the sketch from clean&simple. I think it's always a good time to tell people you love them!

Flower, flourish, and 3 hearts are quilled in 4 different shades of pink! Scallop circle is made from pink pattern paper with a white cardstock circle on top. "LOVE" sentiment is a rub-on sticker. Cardstock base is Bazzill brand.

Now...have a great weekend! lol

Easter Card! Quilled Chick with Bunny Ears

April 8th is the day Easter Sunday falls on this year.
It's a little chick wearing bunny ears! The egg I thought was pretty and recycled it from a package.

The body is made up of coiled strips of fringed paper to make it look fuzzy and furry just like a real baby chicken!
I tried to bring a smile to the chick's face. :)

This weekend I am having a small dinner with my close friends and family. I made these little small party favors for them to take with them when they leave. I wish I could share it with all of my internet friends!

Have a happy and fun weekend!

Celebrate National Scrapbook Day

For those of you who are in the U.S., this might be easier to get in on but even if you aren't you may still be interested in this free event online. Big Picture Classes is offering a free crop event for 12 hrs on Saturday, May 5th. From my understanding, you register and log into the classroom on that day.

Maybe I'll see you there!

Pretty Day!

It was another gorgeous day, so I decided to start planting early. I think I waited another 2 months last year. I plan to grow peppers, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, eggplant, onions, green onions, basil, and catnip for my cats (that's on top of the cat grass that I grow for them year round)! Last year the catnip was a hit! I had stray cats rolling around in the yard and raccoon stopping by too!

There are 2 magnolia trees in my neighbors' yards. They are gorgeous! On the down side, I am always sweeping up the petals and leaves...

Laser Print Happy Birthday Card

How are you all doing this evening? While my bf is watching a hockey game, I get to do my "girly" thing. lol
This is a happy birthday card that I designed and laser printed on high quality cardstock. It's a great card to give to any birthday girl who has an eye for simple and clean layouts.  It's also easy to duplicate with different types of flowers:

I'm sure that when I don't have time to make a birthday card in the future, this will be my go-to card.

Have a good evening!

Smile! Quilled Sunflower Photo Frame Card

This card has a slit that acts as a picture frame! The card further crosses boundaries between the scrapbooking and card making world by sharing the most essential thing in most scrapbooks--photographs!

I think this is the ultimate in personalizing a card and that is sticking in your own picture! I really, really tried to make the sunflower look as realistic as possible with the petals being places in more 3D looking positions. It is quilled with 4 different colors of yellow and brown quilling paper and the flourishes feature 4 different colors of yellow and orange. The center of the flower is also a bit pearlescent from going over it with shimmery watermark ink. The word, "Smile," is a rub-on sticker and the strip of brown (it is more of a pinkish-brown) was made using double-sided glue tape and Martha Stewart glitter. The whole interior is blank, so there is a lot of space to write a lovely message! P.S. That picture is of me (left) and my best friend, Jen, since 1st grade (right) on Thanksgiving 2011. :)

I am entering this card into 365 Cards' Day 15 - All Smiles. I believe our smiles go well with the whole concept. lol Go check out all of the other lovely cards made for this challenge! :)

Quilled Pink Tulips (Mother's Day Card)

Mother's Day is less than 2 months away! Time to start making Mother's Day cards!
Get ready for the national day when we all celebrate our lovely mothers! Why not give her double the amount of flowers this year? ;D

This lovely card has a chalked background, an inkjet printed "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment, and 3 quilled flowers in pink and outlined in white. Leaves are a turquoise blue. Glitter was dotted sparingly.

Have a lovely day! :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Quilled Shamrock

Hope your day is super lucky!

I quilled this shamrock using 2 different shades of green. It is small, just over an inch! Each leaf is made up of 2 different sized hearts!

Quilled Sun Rainbow Card

It's been a beautiful week--even reaching 70 degrees yesterday! This is unheard of in Feb. I'm not complaining, but I have to admit I have been too excited about going out instead of staying at home to work on crafts. :X

Yesterday was another Etsy crafts night in Brooklyn. We were drawing and making maps. I didn't know what to do with the map, so I felt that it was really unsuccessful. We still look forward to the next one though!

Today I wanted to show you my card that I am entering into Paper Crafts Connection's March Challenge. What better way to celebrate the good weather than to make a card with rainbows and the sun! Everyone who has seen this card has asked me if this is a card for gays. Well I am not closed minded to it being that I live in NYC and my neighbors are a happy gay couple, so let's forget about any differences we may have and celebrate all life and good things with this card!

The design was inspiration from the the Words with Friends Iphone Case.

One last thing, thanks to 365 Cards for choosing me as a Spotlight Designer last week! I am honored! Now I can post this badge proudly! :)

Have a fantastic weekend!
