Quilled Bee and Flowers Card

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I am delighted to welcome you to another week and another challenge at Tuesday Alchemy! This week, you can choose to be inspired by a word themed challenge! The words are: bee, guitar, and lunch--feel free to use one, two, or all three words! I bet you can already see which word I used. ;)

Materials used were mostly paper and glue, but let's not forget the glitter and a laser printer. :D
It was a bit of a challenge sandwiching a color. I don't particular feel comfortable looking at a photograph of a real bee (yes i'm a scared-y cat!), so I made the wings from memory. I hope they're true to form.

Here's the interior.

I hope you will join us for a chance to win from our fabulous sponsors this week: Robyn's Fetish and Birdie Brown!!!

P.S. Head over to She Stamps to enter Cheryl's blog candy giveaway! Here is what the prize consists of:

Nurse Bear Digital Stamp Carrying Bandaid Teal Get Well Soon Card

Today I'm a guest blogger at Pin and Tack's Vegan Barbecue Bonanza event! It's a huge leap for me from my usual crafting entries because I wrote up one of my favorite drink recipes! It's quick, healthy, refreshing, and easy to make!
I would highly suggest heading over there throughout the week as there are other interesting guest bloggers (you can also enter for your chance to win prizes)! :)

Ok, turning back to crafting I have decided to use a digi stamp for the second time in my life. lol I don't know what got into me--maybe it was the cute free digital stamp from Bugaboo this week that inspired me--but I just wanted to do it.
They have a nurse bear carrying a bandage which I colored in with both colored pencils and markers. The heart I filled with red glitter. The plaid paper is actually laser printed. You can get your free digital copy from the hybrid chick. 3 blue eyelets run parallel to the side of it. "Get Well Soon" was stamped with black ink. Bear nose was colored with Smooch ink.
This card will be entered in:

Greatest Dad Wooden Star Card Father's Day

There are 17 hrs left to enter and play along for prizes. Click here for the blog hop and challenge details!

How did father's day go this year? Midnight is closing in quickly and I wanted to get in one last card that I made last night.
This Dad card features a wooden star that I painted and then covered in Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. Do you see the way it shines? It also gives it more strength...as if I needed more for a piece of wood on a card. lol
This is "Wishing you a Happy Father's Day!" in Chinese. Did you know that you read this from right to left, top to bottom? It's the complete opposite of English sentence layouts. We open a book by flipping pages to the left, but Chinese books are opened from left to right (in other words, the cover is where the back normally is for American books). I am told that Hebrew follows the same rules for opening a book, is this correct?
Also, please check out Karen's blog for information on how you can win:
Another week coming up!

Laser Print Happy Birthday Card

How are you all doing this evening? While my bf is watching a hockey game, I get to do my "girly" thing. lol
This is a happy birthday card that I designed and laser printed on high quality cardstock. It's a great card to give to any birthday girl who has an eye for simple and clean layouts.  It's also easy to duplicate with different types of flowers:

I'm sure that when I don't have time to make a birthday card in the future, this will be my go-to card.

Have a good evening!

Quick Chinese Themed Housewarming Card

Yesterday I went to my friends' first home after getting married. It was my first time there and it was a great time!  My bf, friend, and I put together a gift basket and I, of course, made the couple a card.

The message was printed on my laser printer and the lanterns were wet embossed with black embossing powder. This card is quick and simple to make. For those of you who don't understand where I was going with this, I will have to touch on Chinese culture. Lanterns are often used for display during grand celebrations. Artists designed on lanterns in ancient China, so they were used as a way to display art as well. Nowadays, lanterns are not as significant among Chinese Americans, but you can still see them being used during Chinese New Year and for store front grand openings. For something as worthy to celebrate as your first home together, I thought of this card as a kind of playful way to say congrats with the incorporation of our Chinese backgrounds.

We got them a random mix of household items they they may or MAY NOT use. lol This was the basket we came up with (our dear friend loves these toned down shades of green):
Also, I want to congratulate my boyfriend, Dimma, who finished grad school!!! I am very proud of you and your achievements! <3
